Spectron acts as a neutral intermediary broker in the gas, electricity, oil, coal, metals, weather, petroleum and environmental products markets.

Spectron is also a leading provider of market information products – its daily market summaries, analytical reports, live market screens and price feeds have become must-have market-monitoring tools for thousands of energy professionals – traders, risk officers, consultants, end-users, associations, regulators and government agencies.

A winner of numerous industry awards for customer service and innovation, Spectron has been involved in developing online trading technology since 1994. Spectron revolutionised energy trading in 2000 with the launch of SpectronLive.com, its electronic trading platform, and the hybrid voice/screen model this created has since become the industry benchmark in Europe.

In March 2008, Spectron was acquired by Imarex, the leading freight exchange, clearing and trading services group.
