Forward Freight Agreements

A truly global market, the Forward Freight Agreement (FFA) market has seen massive growth over the last years. As the large and diverse group of participants has developed, the need for effective execution and clearing is of key importance.

Spectron acts as a market place for both freight futures cleared through clearing houses such as NOS, LCH and NYMEX, as well as forward freight agreements (FFA) - bilateral swaps traded "over the counter". In addition, Spectron transacts cleared and bilateral options contracts linked to the FFA market. Spectron lists 14 tanker contracts and 17 option contracts for electronic trading on screen and with clearing facilities.
