Indices

Spectron publishes a range of benchmark indices for the UK and European gas and electricity markets. Based on confirmed Day-ahead and Month-ahead trades concluded through Spectron, they have become essential pricing tools for many companies and are used for settlement purposes in a wide variety of contracts.

Two types of index are generally available – window indices, which are calculated from the number of trades concluded during a representative time window, and all-day indices, which are calculated from all the trades done over the course of the day.  

The indices are published on our website and in our daily market summary report Spectrometer.
