Real-time screens have become a must-have for anyone seriously tracking energy prices. As live windows on the markets, they are invaluable in helping to inform a wide range of energy-related decision-making. Available over the web, and with a range of functionality - including graphing, alerts and live links into Excel - access is quick and extremely simple to set up. 

NEW - Mobile Phone Apps. Spectron has just launched a mobile phone app with live prices. Initially available on Blackberry, apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are to be rolled out soon.

Daily Market Prices

Gas, Electricity, Coal and Emissions

Spectrometer is Spectron’s hugely popular European daily cross-market summary. Both concise and comprehensive, it contains closing market prices and indices for all the major gas, power, emissions and coal markets in Europe, as well as including oil benchmarks. (Historical prices from Spectrometer are also available.) 

Oil Products

The Spectrometer Fuel Oil report specifically covers the European and Asian fuel oil and bunker markets, while Spectron's Distillator report provides an end-of-day summary for the European gasoil markets. Spectron is also able to offer special access to daily prices across all key European oil products markets from the multi-broker pricing service FMC (Forward Market Curve).  

Options

The Spectrometer Options report - published weekly - provides invaluable  coverage of the European gas, power, emissions and coal options markets.

Historical Data

Spectron has a wealth of quality historical market data, going back as far as 2000. 

Two types of historical data are available:

• Daily price data, which lists closing prices on most markets;
• Actual trade data, which lists individual trades concluded, their price, volume and the time they were executed - invaluable when analysing market development and liquidity.

Price Forecasting 

Spectron has strong links with two of the leading price forecasting companies and is now marketing price forecasting services for the UK gas, UK electricity, German electricity and European emissions markets. The UK gas price forecasting service, for example, is used by the majority of the UK gas market (over 50 companies) and has a historical fit of around 90%.
